COMPETITION AND CONTEST

 

   

                                   

 

Welcome to the European Trophy!

The Line Dance Association European Trophy is an Open Competition and Contest where worldwide dancers can register, without membership in any association

 It is a competition authorized by the Spanish Dance Sport Federation (FEBD).

For the spanish dancers it is a competition that counts for the final of the Spanish Championships

 

L.D.A. European Trophy is composed of :

* European Line Dance Cup

* European Honky Tonk Cup

* European Choreography Cup

* European Teams Cup

 

 

Registration   

To participate you must present the Registration that you can download here and be in possession of at least the pass of the day in which the Contest or the Competition, where you want to be part of, is held

If you want to participate in one of the competitions on Saturday and in one of the competitions on Sunday you need at least a two-day pass: Saturday + Sunday.

If you have one of our packs with hotel, these already include the pass to all the event days. You can buy the passes in our online store.

FEBD - Linedance

 

·         Destined for competition lovers

·         There are two divisions with three dances each: Country Line Dance and FreeStyle Linedance.

·         They are independent of each other, and you can register one of them, or both. The classification is independent of the other.

·         All three country dances, are danced in a row without leaving the track

·         All three Freestyle dances are danced in a row without leaving the track

·         The costumes for the three Country Line dance dances must be Country. The footwear must be country-western dancing boots

·         The costumes for the three dances of Freestyle Line dance must be No Country. Footwear should be dancing shoes. No country clothing, no dancing boots in Freestyle.

Who may take part

Aimed at social linedancers looking to have fun with their teachers and peers. As it is a contest of the Line Dance Association nobody needs to have the license of any association or federation.

Costuming

The costumes are free, it would be appreciated appearance country

 

Honky Tonk Country & Honky Tonk Freestyle

1.- Follow step description. No variations. Adaptations because of handicaped contestants are allowed.

2.- No exaggerated arm movements, that go beyond the accompaniment of the corporal movement when having fun. Never use “show up” arm movements. Never use excessive body expression.

3.- Fundamentally the contestants must demonstrate that they are amusing themselves following the pace of the music

4.- The contestants can show while dancing the "motions" represented by the music that is playing, but without excessive body expression.

5.- Exaggerated arm movements or excessive body expression will imply the last placement.

 

ProAline Country & ProAline Freestyle

The instructor accompanies the pupils on the dance floor, like a guide. The pupils (A) of the instructor (Pro) go out with him/her to the dance floor to dance linedance. The group can be of 6 to 8 pupils. A group may have two instructors but only one can go out to dance floor with the group.

The instructor does not count. Only the pupils count for the judges.

The pupils are either Honky Tonk line dance contestants or pupils that have never taken part in a contest or competition.

 

Two groups go together on the dance floor

A  drawing decides each one of the two ProAline groups that will take part together.

A drawing decides which one of the three Honky Tonk line dances they will dance.

The judges decide which of the two ProAline groups is the winner.

Rules:

Line Dance Association

 

 

·         Intended for social linedancers looking to have fun with their teachers and peers. Being a contest of the Line Dance Association, nobody needs to have the license of any association or federation.

·         Only one choreography can be presented in each of the three Categories

·         The three categories are: Country, FreeStyle, ABC-TAG

·         There are two difficulty levels of the choreographies for the previous categories: Beginner and Intermediate

·         In Country and FreeStyle it cannot be presented choreographies with Tag or ABC type.

·         In Country choreography it must be to Country music. It is considered that a song is country, if the singer is recognized as such by the great organizations of country music of the USA.

·         In FreeStyle the choreography can be to any other type of music.

·         ABC-Tag is a division for choreographies, to Country music or to Freestyle music, including one of these two characteristics

·         The costumes are free, although the country appearance in the Country choreography category will be considered. Footwear is free.

·         The organization will study all the choreographies presented, and reserves the right to change categories, or level, in those cases in which it does not fit the requirements of that category.

DAZZLING TEAMS

 Dazzling Teams Music request   Presentation video of the Dazzling Teams 2017

 

Dazzling Teams consists on the presentation of a chain of several “notable” choreographies which include displacement and figures, to the mix provided by the organization, and based on whatever style of music (as long it is of “americana type”. A free choreography may also be performed on said piece of music

The rule of variations does not apply to this category.
Most of the choreography must be in line and it cannot contain more than 25% of solo or partner dancing.
a) Category and Division
There are no age or level categories in Team dancing
b) Composition of the team
The team must be formed by at least 8 dancers. There is no maximum established.
c) Length
The musical mix total length must be of 3-5 minutes.
(Introduction included)
d) Costuming
The competitor’s costuming must be decent (lycra or similar tissues are considered) and it must follow these criteria:
- The members of a team must wear matching clothes (color-coordinated or complementary) which shows that they are a team, or clothes that are related to the theme of their presentation
- T-shirts are allowed as long as they symbolize the team (publicitary T-shirts are not authorized).
- Club clothing is authorized
- Boots and ankle boots with laces are allowed as long as they don’t have spurs, irons or boot chains
- Accesories are allowed except for weapons (imitation, plastic, etc.)
e) Competitor training
There will be a time lapse for the team to get ready on the dancefloor.
The time will be limited to 10 minutes measured by chronometer
f) Judging criteria
The jury will take the following elements into account:
· Step technique
· Character of the dance
· Occupation of the space and alignment
· Number of figures
· Movement and continuity of the dance
· Presentation
· Musicality and synchronization
